May 18th 2011

Wow, I cant believe it has been almost a month since I last blogged.  So much has been going on that I just havent been on here in a while. The weekend after the tornado's was my baby tea, and the next weekend Mothers Day, and we have been so busy with baby stuff and trying to get ready for Braxton to get here.  Finally last weekend we got Braxtons room painted.  This coming weekend we hope to get the chair rail molding up and get the furniture in there.  I go back to the doctor on Tuesday for my routine check up.  Then it will be once a week appointments until he gets here.  I still feel so unprepared.  I need to pack my bags and his, and get Dalton a bag ready and find out who will keep him while we are in the hospital.  I have Daltons first dentist appointment this Friday which I am really nervous about.  I am not sure how he will act and I will most likely be taking him all by myself.  Can you see me now, eight months pregnant trying to hold down a three year old to get his teeth cleaned?  Hopefully it wont come to that, but you never know.  So my mind is just constantly going, thinking about what I need to do next, I feel like I should never be sitting still because there is just too much to do before Braxton gets here.  Trying to keep up my house work and have my house at least looking decent is almost impossible when I have a three year old going behind me and pulling everything back out.  But I have been trying anyway, I would really like to have things in order and not have to worry about a mess when I come home from the hospital.  Also, I will take any tips on this issue, Dalton has always been a great sleeper, but he despises actually going to bed.  My nights have been terrible lately trying to just get him to agree to go to bed and behave and not throw a fit about it.  Once he gets over his fit throwing he goes to sleep and he is fine, but how do I get past the fit throwing?  I feel like we have a really good routine.  We go potty, say our prayers, read a book and then give hugs and kisses before I leave the room.  But everynight after the hugs and kisses he thinks of everything he can to get me to stay in the room and if I dont then he just starts screaming and crying and I just dont know what to do.  My friends have always told me how lucky I am because he has been such a good sleeper from day one, and it is true, once he goes to sleep he has always slept through the night and very late in the morning, but now it is just getting him to go happily to bed.  What should I do?

April 28th 2011

My heart goes out to all the families and businesses that were lost or damaged by the storms yesterday.  My family, friends, and I have all been very blessed to have came through it all ok.  It is true that God works in mysterious ways and He was definitely speeking to us yesterday.  Today I am praying for everyone as people are working to clean up the mess and for the people that are out searching for missing people.  The days to come are not going to be easy and our state needs all the prayers we can get.  Please take time out of your day today to say a prayer for these families and businesses.  And pray that we can understand what God's message is through all this.  Have a blessed day everyone.

Easter

We had a very busy Easter weekend this year.  We spent Friday at Aldridge Gardens taking pictures of Dalton and his cousins Ethan and Eli.  Saturday we went to Shadow Lake for an easter egg hunt and then Sunday was church and more easter egg hunting and lots of fun outside.

Today I am enjoying a little bit of rest and relaxation.  Dalton and I had a very busy day yesterday.  While he played outside in his new pool,  I was busy getting our patio furniture cleaned up and ready for many days spent outside.  While that may not seem like a lot of work, it proved to be a little too much work for my pregnant body.  Then once we finished up outside it was time to come in and clean up and get things going for dinner.  By the time I sat down last night I was sore all over.  So today I thought I would take it easy.  We will see how long the resting will last, for those of you who know me well, you know it is hard for me to sit still for too long.  Here's to a good day!
